- one for the maxmara.com institutional site, managed by Max Mara s.r.l

- one for the digital store brand maxmara.com, managed by U.S. Direct E-Commerce Limited, trading as ESW.

This accessibility notice pertains solely to the institutional section of the website.

The website Max Mara does not use tracking techniques from which any potential disability conditions of the user may be inferred.

The maxmara.com e-commerce website offers products and services in the consumer clothing sector. Users can search for, compare, and purchase related products and services (e.g. shipping). 

The products displayed in the online store are sold by Max Mara S.r.l.

 

How to use the service

The maxmara.com e-commerce service, meets the legal accessibility requirements described in the 'Accessibility Compliance' section. Shopping via the website can be done in a simple and accessible way. Users can search for products and services, add them to their cart, place orders, and complete payments in just a few steps. For questions or requests for assistance regarding the use of the services, our customer service is available via email, telephone, live chat and WhatsApp which can be found on the contact us page. Key information, such as product descriptions, prices, and delivery options, is presented in clear language and a well-structured format.

 

Accessibility Compliance

This information has been prepared in accordance with Legislative Decree no. 82/2022 which implements Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act). The maxmara.com Website complies with the principles of being perceivable, operable, understandable and robust as well as meeting the accessibility requirements set forth in the aforementioned legislation. The specific technical measures adopted use the EN 301 549 standard as their reference and are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 with conformance levels A and AA.

 

Website accessibility

In order to promote a sensitive use of the maxmara.com Website, in compliance with the regulations and standards indicated in the previous paragraph “Accessibility Compliance”, the following solutions have been adopted:

  • • Ability to navigate the entire website using just the keyboard
  • • Focus indicators are visible while navigating
  • • All text elements are readable by screen readers
  • • Ability for the user, for the most part, to individually adjust the text size
  • • Colour contrasts are, for the most part, adequate
  • • Product images, for the most part, accompanied by meaningful text descriptions
  • • Content, for the most part, free of rapid image sequences that can cause visual impairments
  • • Use, for the most part, of descriptive titles for the pages
  • • Clear and consistent navigation structures
  • • Error messages and suggestions are mostly clear to facilitate the correction of inputs
  • • Using semantic HTML structures and appropriate ARIA roles
     

Furthermore, dedicated features are constantly updated to ensure an ever-improving experience for all users.

 

Content not accessible

The maxmara.com Website is partially compliant with the harmonised standards UNI CEI EN 301549. In particular, in relation to the standards listed in Appendix A of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard, the contents listed below are not yet accessible:
 

  • • Non-text content: some informative images lack descriptive alternative text, while purely decorative elements are either incorrectly accessible or not announced correctly by screen readers

  • • Information and relationships: some interface elements are not correctly labelled or associated, while other information is communicated without the context or semantic structure appropriate for screen readers

  • • Layout adaptation: some interface elements do not properly adapt to reduced viewports, requiring horizontal scrolling or causing content to lose visibility

  • • Non-text content contrast: some non-text interactive elements do not meet minimum contrast requirements

  • • Interactive content with hover or focus: some interactive elements cannot be closed or cancelled using the keyboard

  • • Text content contrast: various texts and interface indicators do not meet the minimum contrast requirements

  • • Keyboard use: some interactive elements, such as overlays, pop-up menus and product images, are not fully accessible via keyboard use alone

  • • Animation management: some multimedia and animation content starts automatically and lacks the controls to pause, stop or hide it

  • • Skipping content blocks: There is no mechanism to skip repetitive content blocks

  • • Page titles: some page titles are not sufficiently descriptive

  • • Focus order: some interactive elements do not correctly manage focus after being closed

  • • Headings and labels: some interface elements are not correctly communicated to users

  • • Content language: some links do not match the language of the content, causing incorrect pronunciation by screen readers

  • • Error identification: the validation of forms with errors presents some critical issues

  • • Instructions and labels: Some input fields lack clear labels or instructions for the user

  • • Error suggestions: some error messages are not sufficiently clear or descriptive

  • • Name, role and status of interactive elements: various visually disabled or interactive controls do not correctly communicate their status, role or name to screen readers

  • • Status messages: in some cases error messages or status information are not correctly announced

 

Max Mara s.r.l. has launched a structured continuous improvement programme aimed at gradually addressing identified critical issues, with particular attention to new content and the most frequently visited sections of the website.

The programme includes scheduled accessibility reviews, in addition to the internal training programme already underway aimed at Designers, Developers, and all departments involved in the management and development of the Website, with the aim of promoting a fully accessible approach.

 

Drafting of the accessibility information

This information was drafted on 16/04/2026, the evaluation was carried out by third parties through objective and subjective analyses.

Max Mara S.r.l. undertakes to update this accessibility statement at least annually to ensure the accuracy of the information contained therein and to reflect the ongoing accessibility improvements that will be progressively introduced.
